What is “tassya-mura”?

General understanding	A special area in the town is designated as tassya-mura, where theme park facilities are organized in order to invite visitors.
Correctly	It is a virtual agriculture village with the purpose of activating exchanges between visitors and villagers by taking advantage of local resources.

○Catch phrase

“Nice and slow and relaxed”

Melted into the village’s unique slow moving time, we want the visitors to become Tassha (healthy) through various experiences and exchanges with the local residents. We, the local people, ourselves want to be Tassha through time shared with the visitors. (Circulation of Tassha)

・The first step is to make Tassha fans out of tourists. The future target is to have them live in the village permanently.

Origin of tassya-mura

○Review of key policies in Aomori Prefecture
	・Promotion of new tourism, “Aomori Tourism” featuring the industry of agricultural,forestry and fishing by Tourism Promotion Division of Aomori Prefecture（then Project Team X）・Idea of tassya-mura as part of the project to materialize “Aomori Tourism”

○Designate former Nagawa Town as the project implementation area
	・Convenient location, about 20 minutes from Hachinohe Station of Tohoku shinkansen ・”Fruits Land”, represented by the local product, cherry ・Performance of green tourism mainly consisting of acceptance of agriculture experience school trips ・Active groupes such as Nagawa Home Stay Conference, Cherry Center, and Agriculture and Tourism Association

Nagawa Spring Festival

	Ｐｌａｃｅ	Ａｒｏｕｎｄ　Ｈｏｕｋｏｕｊｉ　Ｔｅｍｐｌｅ
	Content	It is held at Houkouji temple as a main site which is located at the foot of the mountain in the Nakuidake Prefectural Nature Park at May 3th and 4th during the blooming season of cherry and plum trees. Various events will be held throughout the day including a parade of children with colorful kimono (traditional Japanese dress) such as pink and green and crown on their heads as well as singing and dancing by local preservation committee.

Peony Festival

	Ｐｌａｃｅ	ＨａｓｅＰｅｏｎｙＧａｒｄｅｎ
	Content	Hase Peony Garden located in the middle of mountain in the Nakuidake Prefectural Nature Park has been improved since 1979 by the town. 8000 with 180 varieties are planted in the 3.3 hectares garden. It features one of the greatest peony gardens in the Northern Japan.

Walking Fukuchi Satoyama（which means rural natural areas）

	Content	Many walking fans from all over the country come to enjoy walking at the 8km, 12km and 16km courses which are the only officially approved courses in the Aomori by the Japan Walking Association． You can enjoy the breath of fresh　air, sound of a stream, birds chirping and wild flowers of each season. You will see the great nature of the town.

Jakkudo Festival

	Content	The festival is known as a first summer festival in the southern part of Aomori. People of all ages enjoy the many various events such as; swimming tournament of catfish that live in the Mabechi River (located in the center of the town), a talent show, comedy live show and fireworks. Many people visit from neighborhood areas. Jakkudo means “Many” in the southern dialect of Aomori.

Nanbu Festival

	Content	Gorgeous parades of an old feudal lord and his wife show the history of its original place of Nanbu domain. Local performing arts, dancing and music parade, and mikoshi portable shrine enhance the mood of the festival.

Nanbu Summer Festival

	Content	The main event of the annual Nanbu Summer Festival is the fireworks show. The view point is very close to where the fireworks are set off, so that you can enjoy the dynamic vision of various fireworks in the night sky of the summer.

Nagawa Fall Festival

	Content	Nagawa Fall Festival is held at the Tateyoshi region as a main site from September 8^th to 10^th every year. The to and from parade is lead by the kagura dance of the Suwa shrine and includes local performances such as deer dance, pestle dance, tiger dance, portable shrine and also floats of each district. It is very unique that Nanbu teodori dance to the sound of bamboo flute, shamisen and dram are shown on the stage of each floats.

Tomabechi Festival

	Content	People living in the four areas in the Tomabechi district parade their floats. These floats are created by volunteers of each area. The originality and ingenuity of the floats is a delight for the audience to see. The scenery of floats going through the town with the sound of flutes and drams is like moving art.

〝Nanbu Nanauta Nanaodori〟 National Competition

	Ｐｌａｃｅ	ＲａｒａＨａｌｌ（ＴｏｗｎＨａｌｌ）
	Content	Nanbu teodori dance originated in Nagawa region and has been handed down over several hundred years. There are seven dances and it is called “Nanbu Nanaodori.” Performers who sing and dance compete with their fine voices and also dynamic and also their elegant dancing.

Nanbu Region 〝Enburi〟

	Content	“Emburi” is a traditional event of the winter which wishes abundant harvest in the southern part of Aomori. A way good place to enjoy it is at the “Kagaribi (bonfires) Emburi” held at the Denshokan open-air stage.
